Farfalle a la Marinara Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 300g farfalle pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Procedure:

  1. Cook Farfalle:
  2. Cook the farfalle pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  3. Sauté Onion and Garlic:
  4. In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.

  5. Add Crushed Tomatoes:
  6. Pour in the crushed tomatoes into the pan. Stir in dried oregano, dried basil, and red pepper flakes if using. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Simmer for about 15 minutes.

  7. Combine with Farfalle:
  8. Add the cooked farfalle pasta to the marinara sauce. Toss until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.

  9. Garnish:
  10. Garnish with chopped fresh basil before serving.

  11. Serve:
  12. Serve the Farfalle a la Marinara hot, with grated Parmesan cheese on the side. Enjoy your delicious pasta dish!
